Finding the Beauty in the Ugly
Over the last 20 years since Darrell’s passing, his partner Rita WANTS TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR VETERANS DEALING WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. HSE IS AN ADVOCATE FOR PSILOCYBIN THERAPY “If microdose mushrooms or other forms of plant medicine would have been made available, maybe he would have had a chance to work through his trauma and Darrell might still be with us”.
This led to a deeper inquiry into how we could potentially support this work and provide safe access to plant medicines for those in need.
We found a company that was making super high-quality, double lab-tested mushroom products with a focused intention on physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and began discussions around what's possible. Right now psilocybin is considered a schedule 1 narcotic, although there has been strong support for more research and broader acceptance. Currently Oregon and Colorado are the only states that have decriminalized the use of psilocybin, with another 15 cities throughout the US also following suit. There are also many accredited organizations focused on providing this safe access where available.
Dimebag’s estate wanted to use Darrell’s story to encourage those in need to explore the options out there while providing education and finding routes for safe access to properly tested and dosed products for their journey to wellness. It was out of this spirit that the estate licensed Dime’s likeness and namesake to Dimetime Psychodelic Holiday Blacktooth Berry gummies, which are intended to be made available in cities and states where these types of therapies can be utilized, with a portion of every donation being given directly to Heroic Hearts to help further facilitate safe access for veterans in need. The Dimebag Trust also enlisted Paul Karasik, owner of the Psychedelic Institute of Los Angeles, to help provide educational support and to help align veterans with the proper organizations where they can safely access such therapies.
